Introduction

To help in understanding the rules of Total War an example game is being run to show how the various rules work from both a player perspective and the perspective of a GM.

Due to the limitations of the wiki site it will have no spoilered messages, but otherwise use the rules of a basic version of Total War using none of the more complex rules or variants. in this example there will be five example Player Nations (PCs) and four non player nations (NPCs). Each PC will demonstrate a common style of play. The NPCs will serve as buffers between the player nations in the early game.

Factions

The large nondescript empire of Totalia has recently broken up. It has left behind several fragmented nations who all desire to claim the empire for themselves and drive out their competitors.

Alphaville (Example PC): Home of guns, tanks and fortresses. Most of Totalia's military forces have been coopted by the Alphians to use in the war against the other nations.

Betaville (Example PC) : Spies and the people who love them. The Totalian intelligence division has been taken over by the Betians. Or possibly it took them over, it's hard to tell.

Gammaville (Example PC): Home of the merchants and traders. Gammians are renowned for the mercantile skill and ability to build useful goods out of junk. The infrastructure of Totalia was built by them.

Deltaville (Example PC): The ivory towers of Deltaville reach for the sky as their inhabitants discover the secrets of the universe. The Deltians have most of the research capability of the former Totalian empire.

Etaville (Example PC): Everyone loves the Etians. The Totalian empire may have broken apart but the line of the old emperor still rules in Etaville. Undiminished by the corrupt politics of the Senate in the last days of the empire the Etian royal house still has the love and support of the people.

Bricktowns (Example NPCs 1,2,3, and 4): Not all the nations that formally made up Totalia want to take over. Some are content to live their lives and leave others alone, simply continuing to live in peace.
